Having started doing common law, including civil, family, employment and criminal cases, Charles has specialised for many years in personal injury law, professional negligence law, and employment law, along with some public law through mainly judicial review. His two busiest areas of practice are industrial disease claims and clinical negligence claims. Charles work for both claimants and defendants/respondents and accepts direct access work and conditional fee agreement (CFA) work.
Areas of Work
Charles undertakes for claimants and defendants work in personal injury, especially employers’ liability claims – with particular focus on industrial disease claims, and clinical negligence, other professional negligence, and public law/judicial review. The bulk of his civil litigation practice is probably industrial disease claims and clinical negligence claims.
Acting for claimants, including trade unions, and respondents, including many public sector bodies, Charles covers all employment work. Disability discrimination claims have featured a lot in his practice.
