Professional Profile

Following the completion of her BTC, Libby has joined Atlantic Chambers as a pupil under the supervision of Sophie Smith, specialising in all aspects of family law.

Libby studied law at Durham University and was awarded the Uthwatt Scholarship from Gray’s Inn to study the BPC at The University of Law, Liverpool. She achieved a Very Competent in the BPC course, combined with a distinction for her masters in Legal Practice. Libby is also in receipt of the Ann Goddard Pupillage Scholarship from Gray’s Inn, awarded to those who are committed to a practice at the publicly funded bar.

Prior to pupillage, Libby worked as a paralegal for a Children Panel solicitor in an award-winning family law team, which involved drafting applications, position statements and skeleton arguments in both private and public law matters. During the BPC, she also volunteered for the Greater Manchester Domestic Abuse Helpline’s Legal Clinic.

Outside of work, Libby is a member of a local show choir.
