Teleri transferred to a career in law in 2005 having previously taught Philosophy and Ethics. She started her training contract with a Liverpool firm in 2007 and qualified as a solicitor in 2009.
From then onwards, Teleri practised as a family law solicitor and secured membership on the Children Law Panel in 2015. Teleri then worked as a family law solicitor in Runcorn from 2017 until 2019 and in December 2019 began working as an in house Children Safeguarding Solicitor for a Local Authority. Teleri has throughout this period completed her own advocacy and has advised clients on all aspects of Family law.
Further to her passion for advocacy, Teleri transferred to the Bar and was called to the Bar in July 2020. She joined Atlantic Chambers as a tenant in August 2020.
Teleri practices exclusively as a Family Law Practitioner and is developing a busy family practice. Teleri welcomes instructions concerning all children law matters, both public and private, in addition to emergency injunctions.
Teleri is a farmer’s daughter, the first in her family to to attend university, and prides herself on her down to earth nature and ability to make clients feel at ease in what are often very stressful and difficult circumstances. She is a mother of two boys who keep her very busy and in her spare time enjoys being outdoors, travelling, spending time with friends and family and getting back to the North Wales coast as often as she can.
Teleri is a fluent Welsh speaker and can represent clients in Welsh in addition to English.
Areas of Work
Family
Teleri conducts all cases relating to private family law matters, including living and contact arrangements for children, prohibited steps orders and specific issue orders. Teleri has represented parents, grandparents and children though their Rule 16.4 Guardian at all stages of private law proceedings, including multi-day, contested, final hearings and fact finding hearings. Teleri also has experience of representing both applicants and respondents in Non Molestation Order applications and Occupation Order applications brought under the Family Law Act.
Teleri has acted on behalf of parents, intervenors, children through their Children’s Guardian and local authorities throughout all stages of Public Law proceedings and has represented parties with mental health issues and learning difficulties. Teleri has experience within care proceedings of dealing with issues of domestic abuse and violence, neglect, substance misuse, non-accidental injury, immigration issues, fabricated and induced illness and deprivation of liberty.
